Good cover!

It actually is a pretty good cover...

Normally I'd say how I'd love the melody (because I do) but because you didn't create the melody I can't really comment on that...

But I can tell you I liked what you did with the song! The strings feel really vibrant and the Japanese instrument really makes it feel more alive than it did in the original, although it may be a little too loud in my opinion. It really clutters the fore and middleground a bit too much... but nothing that 'breaks' the song by any means.

Aside from that, I like the drums, very simple and clean and I enjoyed the breaks and the new set of strings. :)

I was pretty hard for me to play the notes just from ear but I finished the Song in only 2 hours (which is supprising for my songs) yah, I agree the Srings are a bit too loud and I could change the EQ a bit... maybe I'll do... maybe not :P

THX 4 the kind words and the fair vote

I can't help but review again, sorry. XD Your music is really addicting for some reason. :O

The instant this song started I got this strong Metal Gear vibe, that's probably because of the background arrangement (it's a piano, right? No wonder I love it). This could totally work for a caution-phase after you've evaded everyone in the alert phase. XD

Man this is really good in my opinion, especially after 0:35 when things pick up... I can totally imagine them getting close to me and I start panicking at the exact moment the music picks up and it keeps picking up too!

This one has a perfect loop by the way! I really don't know what I could say that might be useful to you to improve on it... The percussion is solid and helps the feeling feel 'elevated', the buildup is really good and never feels out of place... this track sounds really good already, like I said I could totally see this replaced in an MGS game as it is right now!

Really good work! :D

PS: I'm gonna have to listen to your other ST tracks too!

DavidOrr responds:

Thank you! I love your reviews, they're very thorough. I definitely had the scene you created in mind while making this. It's pretty fun music to play around with, I'll probably end up making another suspense track or two later on.

Thanks for your support Nemesis!

P.S - I'd recommend against looking at my old ST Tracks, those are back when I used an old Yamaha S03 Keyboard for sounds and an old music notation program designed for Windows 3.1 (MusicTime Deluxe). I may end up remaking them at some point, but until then expect a good laugh when listening!

I'm a broken record T_T

I hear Piano and I explode XD. But a lot of people know that so excuse me for repeating myself every time I come across an awesome song that uses the piano really well XD

I actually don't hear the Piano being used a lot as a sort of driving force/rhythm in songs that much anymore, so I was surprised it was the main focus in this one... I haven't really heard a lot of your music, just bits and pieces here and there, but it all sounds very high quality!

Everything blends together really well, but I do have one little (and I really mean little) problem and it's that the drums are so... soft! :O. If it's for a conflict I would've imagined the drums having a more resounding presence, but it may have been a conscious decision by you so I'm not quite sure what to think of that - but at least you know what I think. XD

The string sets used are very nice, the guitar is very subtle - instantly likable and I like the final break into the loop. :) I barely noticed it, but that's probably NG's fault because it skips a few seconds too early. :)

Anyway, keep up the great work - I've favorited you!

DavidOrr responds:

Wow, this is a great review! The piece will actually loop properly in a .wav format, but the mp3 version never loops well. I did try and keep the drums in the background- when they're in the forefront they tend to drown everything else. It's a fine line to walk, but I've noted that down for when I go in and make adjustments.

Thanks for the great review and support, expect a return review coming your way!

Hyperactive!

This song is full of spirit! I absolutely love the fast paced sound combined with the classic kick'hat'snare combo. <3

Progression is very awesome, different layers flow very well into the other, and I absolutely love the bass and scratch-woo sounds. XD

Easily the best thing about the song is the breakdown into the AMAZING piano arrangement! You know me, I absolutely love anything that has to do with piano and that section is easily my favorite in the entire song!

And then ofcourse it amps directly back into that awesome hyper sound. XD This is a really cool song!

I fall for everything megaman!

I don't give out 10's! Ever! What is this?!

I listen to the Megaman OST's all day long, I never get tired of this stuff! You really nailed that Megaman style on it's head! For your first try I'd say you couldn't have done any better!

you know... this would totally fit in that OST list and my friends would never know it's not from any of the games >.>

Anyway, great job!! You have my 5! <3

You can't go wrong...

With a talented person going for some Sonic! :D

In the beginning, the synth lead that pops up above of everything is a little too loud, you'd want it like the other one that appears after for more instrument "cooperation" if you know what I mean! <3 Sounds very good, this part!

More trancy tradition after, with some cool nintendo synths here! :D

Man this song really has a lot of energy. :o
It almost has the same efffect as coffee, lol!

Really well executed! The only gripe I may have is that the drums stay the same throughout the entire (8 minute!) mix! But that's not necessarily a bad thing at all lol. :3

I'm gonna have to check out the other megamixes now...
I like sonic music >.> :P

Thx for the review NT! I'm aware about the drums....I suck with percussion actually. So yeah...this is the last one....now my question is should I release the credits theme as an individual? ^_^v

Woooo!

One of my friends just pointed me towards this, saying I'd probably like the style of this music really much!

And yes, I do! Like Zeriikler said a few reviews below, I doubt anyone can resist tapping their feet or fingers to the beat of this. It's really grasping. Aside from that, there's not a lot of variation to be heard here but to be honest you dont see that often in this genre at all, but that's not to say it wouldn't be nice... :p

I dug the choirs and the rhythm break at the halfway mark but was sad to hear it was slowly but surely falling back into the same pattern, only with a few things missing and then bringing it back in resulting in the same thing. I did like the little arpeggio-like addition that came in (briefly) at the end, but after that the song ended. :p

All in all it sounds very good for something you did for the first time in this style! It's sure to grab anyone's attention from the first beat upward.

5/5 - 9/10!

This is so great

Everyone can tell you spent such a big time with this, it's really great how you put everything together, really, it all clicks. :)

Really a great portrayal of effort and creativity. I really am impressed! Totally deserved the #1 spot on both weekly and all time!

Congratulations on your achievements,
5/5 and 9/10!

sonicmega responds:

This is definitely one of the better reviews I have read to this song so far, simply because your organization and explanation fully explained why you gave it the score you did.

If anything, I think people should enjoy that the rhyming comes mostly from the Pokemon names THEMSELVES. Sure, some are rhymed using adjacent phrases thrown in, but it's nowhere near as bad as the Hoenn Rap.
